The Institute of Endemic Diseases, University of Khartoum underwent a spectacular transformation since its inception in 1993 to become one of the most acclaimed and leading institutions in the country, regionally and a center of excellence recognized internationally. Aspiring to meet its vision and objective in training, research, and community service, the Institute through teamwork, International collaboration and dedication to the cause of science managed to collate an impressive list of achievements in less than two decades.

The Institute of Endemic Diseases was established in 1993 as a research and training center for endemic diseases. It acts as a platform for biomedical and clinical research in the University of Khartoum. Community service is an ever growing objective, especially for impoverished and remote communities.
