Prerequisites

This 5-day course is aimed at individuals working across life sciences who have little experience in bioinformatics. Applicants are expected to be at an early stage of using bioinformatics in their research with the need to develop their knowledge and skills further.

Learning outcomes


  • Following course completion participants should be able to:
  • Identify important biological databases and retrieve data.
  • Distinguish between the various sequencing technologies.
  • Develop ability to effectively perform phylogenetic analysis.
  • Infer population structure using principal components analysis (PCA).
